Elvis fans and impersonators converge on Memphis Tennessee during Elvis Week 2012 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of his death in 1977. There is also a 100-booth merchandise and memorabilia fair at the Memphis Cook Convention Centre.
The “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” lived at Graceland where you can join in a candlelight vigil. There will be panel discussions, art exhibitions, concerts and a music festival. There are 3 new exhibits: “Icon: The Influence of Elvis Presley,” which celebrates his status as a musical pioneer; “Elvis Through His Daughter’s Eyes,” which explores Lisa Marie’s childhood at Graceland and her relationship with her father; and “Elvis on Tour,” featuring the documentary of the same name about his tour in April 1972.
