Rockin’ Rivertown 2012 Music and Arts Festival in Conway South Carolina

Attend the Rivertown Music and Arts Festival 2012. The 26th annual event will be held in historic downtown Conway, South Carolina. Many buildings and structures located in Conway are on the National Register of Historic Places. The City Hall building was  designed by Robert Mills, the architect of the Washington Monument. Conway’s downtown area has been revitalized with shops and bistroswith a Riverwalk along the Waccamaw River.

The free annual event has been held on the first Friday in May for the last 26 years. Blankets and lawn chairs will converge on the edge of the Waccamaw River as locals and visitors gather for entertainment from local and regional bands. The performances begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until dusk.

Enjoy Jazz and Gospel music. The festival also includes artist exhibits and demonstrations from the genres of painting, pottery, jewelry, glass, metal and mixed media.

Chicora Car Club will be hosting a classic car show and downtown merchants will invite guests into their businesses. Local specialties such as chicken bog will be offered in addition to hot dogs and hamburgers. Local chefs will also offer some gourmet choices.

Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival in Myrtle Beach South Carolina

Attend the 3rd Annual Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine & Spirits Festival in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event will take place in Myrtle Beach on the weekend of April 26-28, 2012.

Here’s the Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival schedule. Events include: Restaurant Week Events, beer and wine dinners, tasting tents and a tasting finale. There will be an  Oyster Roast at the Sea Captain’s House that will kick-off the festival’s third year on the Grand Strand. The Oyster Roast will feature live music in addition to wines and spirits samples and oyster dishes. Tickets are $25. Thursday, April 26 where guests can sample food and wine from restaurants in the complex for $10. Friday and Saturday, tickets can be purchased for the “Oceanfront Grand Tasting Tents.” Tents with food, wine and spirits samples will be set up on Ocean Boulevard between 8th and 9th Avenues North in Myrtle Beach. There will be three tasting sessions at the tents and tickets are $30 per session. “The Chef’s Challenge and Tasting Finale” will wrap up the week’s events with local chefs battling to create the ultimate treats for attendees. Live entertainment and, of course, wine and spirits will be available at the finale. Tickets start at $50 for the event. Combination tickets that include admission to all three tasting sessions in the oceanfront tent and a seat at the finale are available in limited quantities for $100 per person. Other events include various “Wine Dinners” and “Beer Dinners” throughout the week at participating restaurants. They’ll create dinner menus with various wines and beers served during each course. Three course tasting menus will be offered at local restaurants participating in the festival for $20.12.
