Attend the Mesa Verde Country Wine and Art Festival 2012 in Cortez, Colorado. Southwest Colorado‘s towns of Cortez, Dolores, Mancos and Towaoc embrace the archaeological center of America with magnificent Vino con Vista mesas and canyons. This area is the home of the world-renowned Mesa Verde National Park; a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Montezuma County, Colorado. It has some of the best-preserved cliff dwellings in the world.
The Festival also showcases many of the talented local artists who are inspired by the region’s scenic beauty. Festivities will kick off with a winemaker’s dinner on Friday, August 24, 2012.
On Saturday from noon-5 p.m., the festival will continue at Cortez City Park with wine tastings, art, food, local and regional agricultural producers. There will be a musical performance by Thomas Martin Scott. The festival will end on Sunday with an open house at Guy Drew Vineyards from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
