“Tango Buenos Aires” is the World’s Largest Tango Festival: UNESCO Cultural Heritagein August

Argentina is the birthplace of Tango music.  On September 30,  2009, UNESCO‘s Intergovernmental Committee of Intangible Heritage declared tango as “part of the world’s cultural heritage.” This allows Argentina to be eligible to receive financial assistance in safeguarding this cultural treasure for future generations.

Every year for two weeks in August, you can attend the Tango Bueno Aires Festival & World Championship where you can witness the sultry vigor of the Tango! The festival brings together some of the best tango dancers in the world.

This is the main opera house in Buenos Aires. It is considered to be acoustically amongst the five best concert venues in the world. It opened on May 25, 1908, with Giuseppe Verdi‘s Aïda.
